As mention above, the GRE is likely to be a requirement if you want to study aboard at a graduate (Master level or higher) degree program in the US, or in most other English-speaking countries. A good GRE score will make you a better candidates for admissions, while the lack of a GRE score might prevent you from being considered as a potential student at all.
